RECAP:
First session of the day with Artist/Producer Cam O’bi working on a new song for his album (continued from the other day). Spent our day working on a light weight mix of the track to send to Chance The Rapper. Very excited to hear the final version of this song, still has a long way to go. We mainly sorted out a quick mix on the whole track but decided the hook needs to be recut. One of the many great qualities of Cam O’bi is that he isn’t one to sacrifice for quality. We talked about how so many artists today are so quick to get in and out of the studio to go be a fake rockstar and smoke weed. The real work starts at home, preparing and writing as much as possible. Coming to the studio with a plan of attack, executing and making sure you gave it the best you possibly can. Working toward finishing a product that you’re proud to show off. A record that captured the entire emotion of what you needed it to say. Working with Cam O’bi, as such a musical person I am very excited to see how his album comes out. Can’t stress the importance of not rushing and putting in the extra work. We got the song all dialed in to be sent out, really excited for you guys to hear this one – it”s definitely one of my favorites on his album.
