RECAP:

Finally got to catch up with Cam since he’s been on the road with J Cole, Big Sean and the Dreamville artists. First and foremost I asked him to play me the music he worked on while he was on the road. Very excited for Cam, he made some big moves over the past few weeks resulting in some incredible new music. Hard to believe how good his debut album is going to be. Also got to hear Chance The Rappers verse for one of the songs we’d recorded a few months ago. Watching this album come together is a work of art in itself.

Half way through the session with Cam finishing re-recording a note in a chord stack of vocals he recorded to sample himself Alina Baraz and Galimatias dropped by to surprise me and say hi. I haven’t seen Alina for way too long so it was an incredible surprise that made my day even better after hearing all the new music Cam has been working on. Got to introduce some of my favorite artists in this session today, they ended up staying with us for about an hour as we all talked about music and releasing music in this current market. Had to get a picture to frame that moment in history, for me it marked a special moment to make an introduction between some of my favorites.

Incredible day logged in the books, doesn’t get much better since I’m leaving for Italy in a few hours. Got a beautiful parting gift, can’t wait to get back in the studio and create with these guys.
