Cam O’bi Recording “Take The Wheel”
RECORDING LOG:
Artist: Cam O’bi
Producer: Cam O’bi
Recording Engineer: Nick Breton
RECAP:
Caught lightning in a bottle today with a new experiment recording the SM57. We wanted a more lo-fi style recording and we got a great sound using the SM57 and a slap delay. Cam was going back and forward from sitting on the couch singing to standing and swinging around. Caught this picture perfectly, thought it documented the moment of him truly being in the groove while recording and this happened to be the take we used for his second verse lead.
We previously recorded this song but it was more polished than he wanted for a vocal sound so we started from scratch again today and recorded 90% of the song. We were both very happy with the results from the session today and it was a memorable one for me since we captured some great energy for this record.
