If the title doesn’t say today was an amazing day, let me say it! TODAY WAS AN AMAZING DAY!!

Surprised by Talib Kweli coming in to PHC (shop downstairs) and finally got to meet him in person. Showed him the studio, we talked for a bit but my brain was still pretty scattered after yesterday.. That was a nice surprise/pick me up. Took a picture together and got a shout out for my work on Gravitas.. Made me have that much more love for him being such an incredible person as well as an artist.

Recording Session with Cam and Noname Gypsy for 6 hours, made more magic! Cam wrote/composed music while Noname wrote lyrics.. Her style is a hybrid of rap and spoken word. Incredible writer/lyricist. Really love the two of them working together, I play a song they did that Cam gave me every morning when I wake up because it’s so beautiful.

The second session was with Kirk Knight and Joey Bada$$. Kirk’s working on his debut project right now. We made a new song tonight then hung out and listened to his production. He’s making some really incredible beats, one of which really stuck out… He’s got some killer music in the works.

Recorded a song with Joey after Kirk finished, really like where Joey is at lyrically right now. Very positive and inspiring stories for people of all ages, exactly the type of rap I love to listen to. Still a glimpse of the soul left in this genre and these guys are doing an incredible job to carry it forward.
