RECAP:

Back at it! We’re determined to get this song right! A little more tweaking now that we have fresh ears to start this session. Started to dial in a few tracks we wanted to start mixing, also had a few more parts to replace. Dominic came by since he was in the neighborhood and ended up sitting in with us to mix for the afternoon. He showed us a few techniques to help us get some dirt/ proper distortion added to the parts we wanted. We ran a parallel mix through the distressors to experiment with what that would do. Awesome experiment! Never thought to do something like that, we didn’t end up keeping it at this point because it’s too early to try but when we get to the final stages we’re going to try it one more time. He showed us a great reverb trick to give a snare more character and another parallel trick to give the kick more power. Another solid day spent working on this track bringing it closer and closer to a final mix.
