RECAP:

A well-rounded rockstar in the making. Knocked out another quick session with William Bolton this morning. He produced the track before the session and laid down all his vocals in an hour. Very efficient session as always with WB. This track was one of my favorites that we’ve done so far, had a nice R&B vibe to it vs his usual pop sound. Recording details below.

If you follow my posts you’ll know I haven’t used another mic since I got the Sony C800-G. It’s hands down the best mic we’ve used in any session and the results are continuously impressive. The chain went from the C800-G to the 1084 with a 70hz roll off and from there to the CL1B and finally the Burl B2. I was tracking a bit hot for the usual situation but it doesn’t bother me if the peaks kiss -10dB because it’s already being processed on the way in to my liking and I want to keep dynamics alive.
