RECAP:

Made an awesome song tonight with VanJess! Last minute session plugged into the schedule after talking to Josh last night. Great beat and two beautiful voices equals a recipe for an incredible session. We made a lot of progress for a 3-hour session! Tracked a hook, two verses, outro and all background vocals. The session was very smooth, the girls wrote new parts and expanded on what they brought in… Loved it, love them and I’m really excited to hear more music from them!

We got levels going fast because I’m getting very familiar with this chain. They like to loop record and pick their favorite performance so I cued up the hook first. After 4-5 takes we listened and gave feedback then recorded a handful more. Once we had it in the bag we picked out favorite lines and finalized the hook. Two verses went in back to back right after the hook and were recorded/edited in a similar fashion.

We listened back to the main vocals and the girls came up with ideas for backgrounds and an outro part. Laid everything in its place then I did a quick clean up and exported all their files.

Loved the session tonight, favorite of the month so far!
