RECAP:

Very last minute session with Ray Dalton and Zen Freeman today! Zen contacted me at 10am with a last minute emergency and I was able to squeeze them in by 11am before my next session started at 2pm with Cam & Rejjie. We started off the session flipping through tracks Zen sent Ray and pulled up one of them to lay some ideas. Ray came in with another artist/writer named Liam who also had some tracks for the guys to listen to so we laid some different vocals over a few of those tracks. When Zen arrived we played through the bits we recorded and decided to work on another track he had with him. I cued up the track, Ray and Liam went in the booth together and started freestyling ideas – Liam even played flute which was a first here at Truth. Amazing flute player – had no idea he even had a flute with him and he just pulled it out and started soloing all over the track with great melody ideas.

Once we got through some riffing we sorted out some ideas, found some lyrics for house-style hooks and started recording. For a short three hour session I’d say it was incredibly productive !!

Writer and singer from Seattle, WA. Most famous for his solo artist career and feature on hit single “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on The Heist album.
