RECAP:

BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THE WHITE VANS !!!!  Just kidding.. It feels great to hop in and pick up right where we left off last night ! This track is very good and we all feel it ! After listening all night and morning we all came in with ideas. First, we had to clean up the vocals because that was the last part to get touched last night. The mix was all over the place (we were jumping around a ton when tracking yesterday). Once that was groomed we could better evaluate what needed to be re-tracked.

Once we cut the new vocals we went into adding more on top of what we did yesterday. New harmonies and new sections developed from more flowing ideas… The song sounds SO good !! Raury re-cut the magic take from yesterday which goes on top of the chant section and KILLED IT ! Goosebumps from it and it’s still basically completely raw as a session. Until we 100% commit to a section or a final tracked song I like to keep it as raw as possible. That helps everything stay in balance incase we need to re-track or add more. When you have a solid mix in the headphones and you’re working out a song it’s best to not fuck with it.

Once we got through recording for the day we decided to spend more time organizing. We also started mixing down the chant section and it really came to life. We gave the song one clean-up pass then Raury decided he wanted to move on to a new song.

Starting with the Roland Hand-Sonic then going to the Fantom X6. Once we got drums and a cool Bell/Electric Piano down from Teo Raury cut Bass, Electric Guitar and Acoustic Guitar. We took some time to sort it all out then Raury laid a scratch vocal because we were at the end of the session.

Two VERY solid days in the books with these guys, love working with them !!
