RECAP:

Quick 4 hour session with Peter Cottontale, Donnie Trumpet (Nico Segal), and JP Floyd. They had a track they needed to re-create because the previous session files had gone missing. Started out recording the upright piano with the 414. Got a good string of sections laid out before Peter Cottontale sat down and started chopping/sequencing. Nico had started working on drums while Peter was playing and sequencing so shortly after the drums fell into place. Once they had things set up to record vocals all the guys went in to record their respective parts. I was mainly in charge of filming and taking pictures to document the session. The guys are all very skilled and interchangeable with roles in the studio. Overall it was a great day, these are some of the most talented musicians I’ve ever seen play, I love the music they make and the way they create it. They’re incredibly nice and funny so the sessions are always full of jokes – no better way to spend an afternoon in my opinion.
