RECAP:

All of these sessions have been moving at a very comfortable pace. I think it’s because Mick is basically finished with his album and the pressure to write songs for a deadline is likely gone. He’s been writing incredibly strong verses, some of which might be my favorite from his entire body of work.

Goldlink came to our session today and listened to the new songs we’ve been working on all week. He picked a song we all thought was finished and said he wanted to write a verse for it.. Of course we were all a little reserved, even Goldlink, because he admitted he thought the song sounded finished. He wrote a verse very quickly, I would say within 20 minutes.. KILLED it !! If there was going to be anything else added to a song we all felt was finished, that was it !

It’s hard for me to say which is my favorite because after every session I say “this is my new favorite song” but I really love what we’re doing in these session.. Mick is one of my all time favorite rappers so obviously this means a lot to me to spend 8 days in session creating new music.
