RECAP:

Day two part two with Mick Jenkins & Lon of THEMpeople. We had a night session since these guys are bouncing back and forward with 10am-2pm sessions and 10pm-2am sessions around the sessions with Rejjie Snow & Cam O’bi in-between them. Can’t type that without a smile on my face because so much great music is being made to start this month off.. And so much INCREDIBLE music has been made here this year !!

Mick and Lon came in to work on the song from this morning and add a verse to a song I hadn’t heard before. We started off building on the track we started today in the previous blog post if you want to read about it. Mick added new harmonies to several parts on the song and we did some arranging/sequencing to what we made earlier.

Once we got that recorded and organized we pulled up the second track. Mick had most of the verse written, he finished writing the last few bars then got in and knocked out a hook and verse for the track.

Feeling very spoiled to be getting so many sessions in with Mick and hearing all these incredible verses. I’m also more interested in him singing because he can actually carry a note and his voice is so interesting/unique !

16 hours of sessions logged today, every minute of it was spent making incredible music… It doesn’t get any better than this I promise !
