Mick Jenkins Big Sean The Palladium Red Bull
Left the studio tonight, rare I know.. But I make time for a great artist performing live and Mick is one of my favorite rappers. Unfortunately the venue / audience didn’t seem to be the right setting for Mick. His music is very dense lyrically so it’s tough to see a crowd really get energetic especially when they’re looking for a sound like Big Sean currently has. Personally, I thought Mick ripped the show but it was difficult to hear the lyrics when I went into the crowd. The set didn’t really translate to the crowd, people were into it but they didn’t break. It was my first time in the venue, had full access and thought it looked incredible. His drummer KILLED it as did Mick. I loved it even though I think most would say they didn’t know him or didn’t know his music. Casualties of being intelligent in 2015.
