RECAP:

I keep a rabbit’s foot in my back pocket at all times. It always helps to get lucky when things don’t work out as planned but pan out great in the end. Had a client cancel a session due to a traveling delay and was lucky to sync up with Simz for another session. She arrived around 6:30, same as last night but tonight she came with Ella Mai. They played a few songs to one another when we were getting started then Simz started thumbing through beats. She landed on one that they both liked and they both started writing. I ran across the street to grab dinner at Erewhon and by the time I ate they both had parts ready to go.

Ella went first recording the hook and setting the tone for the record. She did one main lead vocal and a doubled high harmony vocal throughout the entire hook. She put a little icing on the cake with some sweet phrase doubles, I cleaned it up a little and Simz hopped on the mic. She ran through the verse a few times so I could get a proper level set then we started cutting the verse. She had it down within 3 or 4 takes and began to stack some phrases. We did two high harmonies and two low, both panned wide 100 left and right. I mixed it down a little once the parts were all recorded and we wrapped up early so the girls could go get dinner.
