RECAP:

Power players in the studio tonight! Jazz Cartier & Ro Ransom were first to arrive with Jazz’ main producer Lantz & Manager Ives. We caught up since I hadn’t seen the guys for a few months.. Last time I saw Jazz he showed me his latest video Red Alert (VR Music Video – YOU MUST SEE IT ON YOUR PHONE). The guys played me records they’d been working on all week and I played them tracks that I’ve been working on at the studio.

Darius and Dominique arrived about an hour into the session, delayed due to a drive back from Las Vegas. It was my first time seeing them since our session with Tayla Parx which earned us all our first gold record. The guys came in and got set up right away. Within playing 5 or 6 tracks Jazz had two he wanted to work with. Dominique gave me the files and I loaded up a session while Jazz and Ro write their verses. We tried a number of hook options but couldn’t land anything. Shortly after Ro went in to lay his verse. Very creative, interesting style (hadn’t heard his music prior to tonight). I was surprised, another new artist I need to check out! Jazz went in right after Ro finished and cut his verse. Successful session knocking out most of a new song tonight, everyone really liked the track and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
