RECAP:
Best Monday of the year goes to November 14th ! Had a last minute session come together with James Blake and his associate Dom. They arrived around 4p walking into the studio with no idea what to expect. Very happy to quickly find they love the room and James jokingly said I should sell the studio to him. I set up Dom and James to run their laptops and had to take off for a little while. When I came back they went to get a bite and I set up the U99 for vocal recording.
We recorded two ideas over two loops he and Dom selected. Each recording lasted between 10-12 minutes. So many gems…. His voice is magnificent. I’ve been a fan for years and to hear him singing through the mic and be in the same headphone send was really special for me as an engineer. We tracked the ideas and listened back calling it a night shortly after.
Very special day at the studio, great vibe from beginning to end. Excited to announce we will be working together for at least the next 4 days !!
