RECAP:
Beautiful day in LA after a ridiculous rain storm yesterday. Starting week two with these guys!! Dom came in a few hours early to organize files and sort new ideas. Nathan arrived next then James came shortly after. James was talking to us about the trouble from computers, video games and cell phones taking us away from human interaction and how that feeling translates into making music. We all couldn’t have agreed more, I do however feel that these sessions have been the opposite of isolation… Especially with Connan and the long-form jams they’ve had.
Nathan got the Symphony II in today, I ran to pick up Furman Power Conditioners I found online and dropped by East West to pick up James’ Prophet 6. By the time I got back they had already cut a ton of vocals on the VM1 which sounded amazing !!
James was worn out after singing so much so he took off for the night. Jason stayed to work out routing for his synth and we made a plan for the rest of the week. Very excited for all of this… To be honest it’s probably the most challenging work I’ve at this point, especially on a consistent basis. I’ve been pushed to learn more, use 10+ inputs and get creative with set ups… I’m very thankful these guys are so nice and helpful.
Feeling so good about all of this and I’m very excited for what’s about to take place in these sessions.
