Happy Chuck Inglish brought his new album my way for mastering. As a long time fan of his music it’s always exciting to hear what he’s working on. Chuck’s putting the finishing touches on his sophomore album Everybody’s Big Brother. Started off my process listening to all the tracks and trying to balance everything on a basic level by volume. That process starts with an EQ, usually a low shelf cutting up to about 50Hz. From there I use a few different limiters based on the song and character I want to get out of them. Usually a Massey and a McDSP. Getting all the tracks to a similar place before I lay them out in order that they’ll play and start getting the start/stop times dialed in. Then I’ll route the outputs through the summing amp and live record everything back into pro tools. From there I cut each file on the start and stop time and export all regions. Bam!

Writer, rapper, producer from Chicago. Most famously known for being part of The Cool Kids. Chuck Inglish had a debut solo album released late last year and is most famously affiliated with acts like Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, Chromeo, Action Bronson and many others.
