C.S. Armstrong – Spirit in the Dark
C.S. Armstrong – Spirit in the Dark
Artist: C.S. Armstrong
Recording Engineer: Nick Breton
RECAP:
Had a wild day today but for a solid 6 hour chunk great things happened at the studio. Armstrong was first to arrive, we had a lot to catch up on personally then we got to recording. I set up the U87 to record guitar and he played through the part. We went over to Gallery Dept so he could drop some pants off to get custom work done. Added bass next then Nkenge came through and added some strings. I took a few minutes to mix down what we had and Armstrong helped me sequence it.
Nkenge took off and Huey Briss dropped in shortly after. We hung out for a while, he went down to smoke and Armstrong knocked out the lead that I filmed and we did it in one take. Such a fucking cool moment for us to have on film. Nothing like nailing the first performance of a song as it’s being invented. Doesn’t get any better in my opinion.
Messed around and got some great pictures today, what an awesome session :)
