RECAP:

Torn between two cities, Cam is headed back to Chicago tomorrow. We had time for four sessions between his trips and today was our final session until next month. Cam has a few musicians he calls on when he needs various instruments played. Today it was Neil, one of the guitar players Cam works with. We had to record his acoustic (same way as Raury’s session) and electric. Neil brought an amp which was really great because we normally do DI Electric and it sounds… Well, not great.. Dominic suggested using the SM57 close Mic’d and U87 about 6 feet back. I also took a line in from the amp so we had all three signals recording. Cam loves options and we made sure to cover all bases in this session. Neil played on two songs in our short half day session and we ran until the very last minute. Great morning session !
