RECAP:

I was introduced to Bryan this morning from Chris at Classick Studios in Chicago. He said Bryan was in town and needed to get in a studio for a few hours, also mentioning he’s a very talented engineer. I spoke with Bryan and told him the day was all booked up but we had a late night option open and it worked for him. Four guys arrived to the studio, Bryan, Ben B, Ben A and Jeff. All very nice guys and very excited as they had just received the masters for a new long EP they’ve been working on. I sat in as they played through the EP from top to bottom and was very impressed with everything. Ben B is very talented on the mic and Ben A is very talented producer. Jeff was Ben B’s original engineer and sat in with Bryan as they listened to the masters.

Once they played through the project we discussed it and went back to a few tracks. I talked about the sound of the room and my opinion on the project because the room is new to them. Even though it was late and I felt fairly tired the whole project sounded cohesive and solid in all areas.

After a brief talk about the EP I set them up to track through the 414, Great River and MC77. I took off and let them work and came back when they were closing out. Everyone really enjoyed working out of the studio and said it all sounded great. Ben B loved the Adam S3X’s and with the sub 12 in here everything is sounding full !!
