RECAP:

Starting the week out VERY strong ! 7 hours in the studio with Raury and Teo working on what will hopefully be the title track for a future project (can’t say much).. It’s got a timeless feeling so far, building in a very strong way on all fronts. The first part of our session was spent importing files and arranging the tracks. Once we had them in place the Raury and Teo started to record vocals. The rest of the session was a free flowing stream of ideas that then got built into sections of the song. We made a massive sounding chant section that just explodes in the last third of the song. I got chills on playback when we finally had them all in place and I put a rough balance and position on all the layers. Raury went through after and did a few freestyle type tracks to get ideas for the rest of the structure. On the first take he did something very special that sparked an idea but we’re going to hold off on finishing it until tomorrow.

With the vocal recording we got in place we then added some upright piano and re-arranged. The goal was to create the arrangement with the new sections we built today and leave with a solid structured outline… Mission accomplished ! We had a lot of laughs and a very smooth flowing incredible session. Can not wait for tomorrow !!
