NAMM SHOW 2016:

Today was my first day back at the NAMM show for 2016 thanks to Dominic Shiner at Adam Audio. I unfortunately didn’t arrive until about 4pm and the show closes at 6pm. I spent most of my time at the Adam booth meeting the guys Dominic works with and looking at the new speakers we may potentially be getting for Truth. Once NAMM is over Dominic is going to bring some demo speakers by so we can listen to them and compare th various models to the focal SM9’s and make our decision.

When I first walked in to the trade show I entered at the very back where everyone was banging drums and cymbals as loud as fucking possible. I turned around to get my headphones and put some music on to attempt to block out the chaos.. Of course it didn’t work but I tried. I walked around to see new gear at a few places I’d been eyeing but ultimately I wanted to hang out and potentially meet new people.

We left the trade show and went to a party near by that Dangerous Music was sponsoring. I saw some familiar faces from AES two years ago when I went to New York with Dominic and hung out for a few hours before burning out. I can’t imagine how these guys feel after being on their feet all week setting up and standing in the chaos of the trade show floor all day. Everyone had voice issues and seemed to be burnt out and ready to rest for the next two days of work.
