I was called yesterday to schedule a last minute session with Mick Jenkins for this morning and fortunately it was in the only open hours available for today! Mick Jenkins became one of my favorite rappers over the past year so I’m always excited to create music with him. I didn’t know that last week someone named Vic Spencer (I think) wrote a diss track to Mick. Today we recorded the response which I’m told is coming out tomorrow on Vic’s birthday. He had some serious bars in there, my favorite was “I’m in your court serving love like a young Serena”. He has a very raw style overall but he is so intelligent it really gives him a unique signature among so much ignorant rap that’s coming out daily.
