RECAP:

First recording session of 2017 on the new computer today and I couldn’t think of anyone better to kick it off. Well, Andre 3k (putting it in the universe that we’re going to work together this year). Domo played me a handful of new records that he’s working on and we got caught up on life since we haven’t seen each other in a short while. He downloaded two folders of beats and started to write to the 4th one we played.

Not quite a verse, it’s likely going to be the hook but it’s too early to tell. Domo wanted to switch gears and let that sit for a while so we pulled up the folders and started going through beats. Hodgy came shortly after we got started and listened to the beats with us. Nothing caught their attention although we flagged a few to review at another time.

Hodgy plugged in his laptop and played us some tracks he’s been working on. He played some beats he made as well as beats he has from other producers but neither found anything they wanted to jump on. We ended up back on the first track Domo started this afternoon, hodgy wrote a 16 bar verse and laid it down. By the time he finished Domo was ready to record his verse and we laid that down. I spent a few minutes cleaning it up and bounced out the demo for them to sit with.

Smooth first session on the new computer, few kinks to work out on my end for workflow purposes. Can’t wait to dig into Pro Tools 12 and see what else is new beyond the obvious few upgrades I saw. Gear used in the session listed below :)

Working on his debut album to be release on Odd Future Records and featuring a variety of artists and producers like Mac Miller, Sha Money, Tyler The Creator and more.
